The Final Quarter Countdown

A's Style Roll Call

As a teacher, I can’t even begin to tell you how exciting it is to embark into the fourth and final grading period! Metaphorically speaking, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. My kids are tired and eagerly anticipating the summer months, as am I, but now we have something to work towards – making it through the year. If only the weather would warm up, Vitamin D levels could increase, and it would be the extra push we all need, but for now, I can only hope.

Teach: Strangely enough, the shirt, from JC Penney, has a tie, which at first I didn’t like, but it’s grown on me. The skirt, a gray and black fabric, and shoes, black pumps, are from TJ Maxx. The tights are staying until it’s at least 65.

Pray: As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a huge fan of black, white, and red – probably my top three colors. The dress (yes, it’s a dress) is from Kohl’s and the red cardigan is from Old Navy. I’ve worn the flats with other outfits, and they’re from Kohl’s, too. I'd really like to find a skirt similar to the bottom of this dress; I think it could be paired with a number of pieces and colors.

Love: Being the Maxxonsita that I am, this whole outfit is from TJ Maxx. Initially, I bought the shirt for a blind date, which I didn’t wear, but fortunately, I was able to put it to use with a pair of skinny jeans and light brown, Madden boots.

While we sense that summer is near and the school year is winding down, we haven't slowed down on our style choices!  My picks always seem to have a theme, and this week's is the tan wedge shoes.

Teach:  Banana Republic shirt paired with a gold Express sweater, and dress pants from the Gap.  The colors in the statement necklace (see last week's post for more!) just happened to perfectly match the shirt!

Pray:  Banana Republic shirt, with simple skinny leg khakis from j.crew.  Necklace is currently at The Paper Store.

Love:  One of my favorite color skinny jean outfits.  Teal skinny pants from Target (Merona), stripe shirt from Old Navy, and scarf from Old Navy.

The comfortable wedge heels work well with the skinny leg pants, and were comfortable enough to wear three times in one week!

Until next time,

Make A Statement

A's Style Roll Call

Hi Everyone! Sorry that we’ve missed the past two weeks. We had our Spring Break and the ending of another grading period, which as you other teachers probably know it gets a bit hectic at times. Anyways between travels to Boston and Florida, we didn’t get a chance to update. However, being in 85* Florida weather inspired my color this week.

Teach: The pink skirt is from JC Penney’s, and I was waiting for the perfect spring weather to wear it. With temperatures in the 70s last week, I paired it with a long sleeve, sheer top from Old Navy and a neutral heel.
Pray: This entire outfit is from JC Penney’s. I love to shop there for work and other events that require professional dress; they always have a large selection of fun pieces to choose from. Anyways, the orange tank is obnoxiously bright, so I paired it with the white and gray striped sweater and a pair of dark, blue pants to tone it down some.

Love: As I’ve said before, this blue is one of my favorite colors to wear right now. It’s bright and can be paired with a lot of different things. I got this dress a few weeks ago at TJ Maxx with my sister. The shoes are black with a silver tip and from Kohls.

It took me a while to get the hang of these, but as these necklaces have become increasingly popular I've come to understand how to work them into an outfit.  What better way to make a statement than with a statement necklace!

Teach:  The sweater is gray with black sleeves (Max Studio) and the dress pants are beige with a blak pinstripe (Banana Republic).  The necklace is silver but has three layers to it and is a bib style, so the rest of the outfit needed to be bland.

Pray:  The sweater is from Express (Christmas gift from my co-blogger who knows me well - thanks friend!) and black skinny pants are from Target.  Black and white collared polka dot shirt under the sweater (LC Lauren Conrad from Kohls).  The white necklace matches the polka dots on the sweater, and is from Groupon but I see it all over stores now.

Love:  The sweater is blue with green stripes (Max Studio), worn with a similar green color long sleeve shirt under it (Banana Republic), and skinny jeans (Old Navy).  The necklace has various shapes and colors in it but two match the color of the sweater perfectly.

It’s good to be back!
